18 East and Portland’s Earth\Studies present a limited capsule of workwear and outdoor silhouettes executed in traditional, handwoven fabrics. The textural and tonal palettes draw references to the interplay between ‘human’ and ‘natural’ phenomena, while the accompanying editorial echoes this relationship. A sole explorer traverses natural and constructed environments (and those in between), while the East_Studies collection draws together the threads between him, the landscape, and the dozens of human hands who wove, sewed, and imagined his kit for this journey.
